American sociologist Charles Horton Cooley put forward the "looking-glass self" theory in On Self and Social Organization to propose that self-knowledge is formed mainly through social interactions with others, and to teach us that society is a mirror that reflects the self. Inspired by my experience with Cooley's theory, Lost In the Mirror explore the state of recognizing one's self-image amidst the collective unconsciousness that exists in our modern society.
